A thermometer is used to measure a patient's temperature. Electronic thermometers are used in hospitals for speed and to ensure accuracy. New thermometers are needed so that they can be located closer to more patient rooms so the nurse can have faster and easier access.

The hospital is becoming computerized for its medical records documentation. Nurses will be entering patient information into computers instead of a written record. A wireless computerized patient monitoring and documentation station allows the nurse to take a computer to the patient’s bedside and patient vital signs are entered directly into the computer from the monitoring equipment. This eliminates any potential error in documentation and gives the nurse more time to be spent providing care for the patient.
