Foothills Healthy Community
Survey data clearly shows a problem in the community with drug and alcohol use among youth. In an effort to move towards a drug-free community, an Alcohol & Drug Task Force was formed and community professionals have come together from Buckley Police Department, Enumclaw Youth & Family Services, Enumclaw, White River, and Tahoma School Districts, Valley Cities Counseling, Muckleshoot Tribe, Enumclaw Regional Healthcare Foundation, Pierce County Drug Free Communities/Safe Streets, Rainier Young Life and St. Elizabeth Hospital. Working collaboratively, the goal is to develop a community action plan and to initiate a preventative substance use program. Currently, the Task Force is awaiting the results from a grant proposal to move forward with the above described efforts.
Please check back in June for updated information.
